Carpet Anti-Static Properties

Anti-static performance describes how synthetic carpet builds and discharges static from friction—plus how polypropylene and nylon tiles are treated.

Anti-static performance describes how synthetic carpet accumulates and discharges static electricity from surface friction in use. Untreated man-made fibres readily build static charge, which can discharge when it reaches a threshold. Static attracts dust and, in sensitive environments, can affect equipment such as computers. By fibre type:

Polypropylene (PP)

Polypropylene fibre is inherently anti-static.

Nylon

Anti-static carbon filaments are blended during manufacturing, giving permanent anti-static performance.
